ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of nutritional treatment in patients with AIDS.Methods A total of 104 HIV/AIDS patients with a total score of nutritional risk screening≥3 were divided into two groups:observation group (n =50) who were treated with nutritional therapy, control group(n =54) who refused nutritional treatment. The changes of parameters in two groups were observed before(I0) and 1 month after (I1)treatment and 3 months after treatment (I2).Results Compare with thecontrol group, the weight,BMI and ALB in observation group were higher at the time of I1 and I2 (P<0.05);Except for Hb and ALB,the other indexes had significant difference between the time of I0,I1,I2 in control group. While all the indexes had significant differencebetween the time of I0,I1,I2 in observation group. Conclusion Long-term comprehensive nutritional therapy can improve the nutritional status of AIDS patients, which provides patients with a good basis for anti-viral treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the safety and effectiveness of nasegastric enteral nutrition (NGEN) in patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).Methods A meta-analysis of all the relevant clinical trials was performed.Clinical trials were identified from the following electronic databases:Medline,EMBASE,the Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, and Chinese Bio-medicine Database. The search was undertaken in October 2008.The literature quality was evaluated with Cochrane Handbook 5.0.The statistical analysis was performed by RevMan 4.2 software. Results Four trials involving 157 patients were included. The combined results showed that no significant differences in the safety and tolerance between nasogastric and conventional routes in patients with SAP.Conclusions Currently available data show early NGEN appears to be effective, safe, and tolerable in patients with SAP.However, more large-scale high-quality trials are required to further elucidate this topic.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the regularity and characteristics of ADR cases induced by Fat emulsion injection, and to provide reference for rational use of it. METHODS: Retrieved from Chinese medical science periodicals from Jan. 1990 to Apr. 2010, 97 ADR cases induced by Fat emulsion injection were analyzed statistically. RESULTS: Main clinical manifestations of ADR cases induced by Fat emulsion injection were allergy reaction, followed by fat overloading syndrome, central nervous system reaction. The majority of ADR cases broke out in the first time of medication within 2 hour. CONCLUSION: It is essential for clinical practitioners to master the characteristics of ADR cases caused by Fat emulsion injection so as to promote safety of drug use.
